Pataugas brand took its first steps in the shoe manufacturing industry in the 50’s. Pataugas drew its inspiration from its Basque heritage to design its very first model «l’Authentique» , that was definitely influenced by traditional work boots with a specific rubber sole.

In order to manufacture such a shoe, Pataugas used vulcanized technique: meaning a rubber paste would melt on a gas stove to create a sole, before being fix on the upper of the boot.

Pataugas keeps manufacturing original sneakers such as Baling or Rocker; it also sets up partnership with famous fashion houses as Agnes B and Jean-Paul Gautier to create limited collections for Pataugas women shoes Pataugas women shoes.
